Woke me up. Several quiet pauses.

An illustrative report with fictional entries. Counts are detected sound windows, not individual barks.

A useful diary makes room for the whole story.

A calmer way to document it

Listen. Review.
Share when you’re ready.

One diary, as many days as you need. A simple flow built around your record of the disturbance.

  1. Let the phone listen

Keep a plugged-in iPhone or iPad in your home with LogBark open. Possible dog sounds are logged with a timestamp and short clips when available.

  2. Add the human context

Review the sounds. Note what you heard, the breaks in between and how it affected your sleep or concentration. Attach photos, audio or video.

  3. Make a useful report

Choose your dates. Export a readable PDF, a CSV spreadsheet or a ZIP with your report and media. Confirmed listening periods stay with the log.

The details make the difference

A diary you can
actually explain.

Times are only part of the story. Your report brings detections, your own account and listening coverage together.

Your observations, in your words
Record the impact, possible source, pauses and weather. The phone cannot fill these in for you.
Clear times and honest gaps
Local times include UTC offsets. Stopped listening stays visible, so unmonitored hours do not look like silence.
Review without rewriting history
Label an event as relevant or irrelevant. Original detections remain intact and clearly labelled.
Media that stays with the diary
Keep your clips, photos and videos locally. Choose to share them with your report in one ZIP.

Preparing a council diary?

Start with the right
requirements.

Australian councils ask for different periods and forms. Check your council’s instructions, then use your diary to keep your observations organised.

Know what your record means

Useful, with clear limits.

Does LogBark detect every bark?

No. Classification can miss quiet or unusual dog sounds and occasionally flag other noises. Events are detected sound windows, not counts of individual barks. Review the log and add your own observations.

Can it identify my neighbour’s dog?

No. The app recognises possible dog sounds. A possible source can be recorded as your own observation, not as a conclusion made by the app.

Does it listen with the screen locked?

The current build listens while LogBark is visible and keeps the screen awake. Locking the device or switching apps stops listening. It also pauses for manual media capture and playback.

Will a council accept the report?

Acceptance depends on the recipient. Check their dates, forms and supporting-record requirements. A PDF does not automatically replace a council’s diary or required declaration.

When can I get the app, and what will it cost?

LogBark is in beta testing and is not yet in the App Store. Launch timing and pricing have not been announced. You can use the free printable and CSV diary templates now.

Privacy

Your diary stays with you.

Sound is classified on your device. There is no account, no upload of recordings and no advertising in the app.

  • Diary data and media stay on the device and are excluded from cloud backup.
  • You choose when to export a PDF, CSV or ZIP, and where to share it.
  • The location field is off by default on every export.
  • Deleting a diary removes its referenced media; deleting the app removes its local records.
